Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) 2019 Paper II result on October 30. All the candidates who had appeared for the Paper II exam can check the result for the same on the official website , ssc.nic.in. The result notification said that a total of 17004 candidates have cleared the exam in the 18-25 age group and 3898 candidates from the 18-27 age group. These successful candidates will go through the document verification process, details of which will be released soon. Continuing our series on the use of multiple languages in khayal song-texts , we look at a few compositions that predominantly employ Urdu. Many traditional compositions use more than one language, pointing to the fact that composers seem to have been at ease with these languages and their dialects and that they did not mind blending them in a single composition. In other words, for them, each of these languages perhaps, did not exist in isolation. More importantly, while each of these languages may have been spoken predominantly in specific regions of northern India, their seamless intermingling suggests the composers’ ability to look beyond narrow geographical and political boundaries. President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday signed an ordinance to set up a commission for monitoring the air quality in Delhi and its neighbouring states, India Today reported. The ordinance came a day before the Supreme Court’s hearing on air pollution, according to NDTV. The commission will be tasked with research and the identification and solution of problems related to air pollution. It will replace the Environment Pollution and Prevention Control Authority as the top body for monitoring air quality. The 17-member commission will have representatives from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan and Haryana. It will be headed by a government official of the rank of secretary or chief Secretary, who will be chosen by the Centre. The commission will also include the secretary of the Ministry of Environment and five other secretary or chief secretary-level officials. They will be ex-officio members. The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday arrested suspended Indian Administrative Service officer and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s former Principal Secretary M Sivasankar in the gold smuggling case, ANI reported. He will be produced in court on Thursday. Earlier in the day, the agency had taken Sivasankar into custody from a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram for questioning. This happened after the Kerala High Court rejected his anticipatory bail petition. Sivasankar had said in his bail petition that investigation agencies had not produced any incriminating material against him, NDTV reported.
